  2. 1 cup chana dal
  3. 1/4 tsp turmeric
  4. 1/4 tsp salt
  5. 3 cup water
  6. 1 tsp ghee
  7. 1 cup jaggery
  8. 1/4 tsp nutmeg powder
  9. 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  10. for dough:
  11. 2 cup wheat flour
  12. 1/2 cup maida / plain flour
  13. 1/4 tsp turmeric
  14. 1/4 tsp salt
  15. as required water to knead
  16. as needed Ghee

Instructions to make to make Puran Poli /Holige

  1. Firstly, Put a saucepan over medium flame and add ghee to it. Once the ghee is melted, add blanched dal in it. Roast for 2-3 minutes and then add all remaining ingredients into it.
  2. Let the mixture cook completely and all water dries out then mash the mixture using mash. Puran is ready.
  3. In the big bowl take all the dough dry ingredients, a dough kneading plate, add all-ingredients under dough and then add a little water at a time & knead well to make a stiff dough.
  4. Take one part and press it a little to make space in the centre. Once done, take the puran & fill it in the centre. Close and shape again like a ball. Grease your hands a little and make roti with your hands. You can roll it out using a rolling pin too.
  5. Now put the rolled puran poli over hot tawa.allow roasting on medium flame until it puffs up.
    * grease oil/ghee and flip over and cook finally, serve puran poli with ghee.
